SUPPORT YOUR NEURODIVERSE CHILD

Assisting families who have children with diagnosed or suspected neurodiversity
“Neurodiversity” commonly refers to ADHD and the autism spectrum, but also includes Tourette syndrome, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia
Our work together
Supporting a neurodiverse child can be challenging. The path from diagnosis to treatment is often fractured and complex. When our child first received her diagnosis, we felt completely lost and didn’t know where to begin. Professionals recommended services we’d never heard of and we didn’t have the knowledge base to choose the most effective path for our child. A message I wrote that week said,
“I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the things that people are throwing at me. Everyone has advice and I'm also exhausted and don't know what to do… my head is spinning.”
We wished for someone to help guide and advise us through this confusing time. Now, over a decade later, I have amassed extensive resources that will help streamline your experience and clarify the path forward.
Work with someone who has
Lived through it
(and is still living through it)
Pictures can be deceiving. Sometimes all looks well from the outside but you are struggling to support your family. Years ago we had no idea what neurodiversity was. But, practically from the time she was born I explained our situation by saying,
“We don’t have a special needs child, we have an extra needs child”
It wasn’t until years later and after multiple evaluations that she received a diagnosis and things started to make sense. We pursued multiple treatments, many of which were in vain. It took years to cultivate the supportive and effective team we have today. It took years for me to feel comfortable knowing how to advocate for my child.
Neurodiversity comes in all shapes and sizes but one common struggle for parents is trying to support their children. I get it. I’ve lived through it. The wonderful, the difficult, the beautiful, the ugly… All of it. I hope to support other families going through similar situations and give them the support I wish I’d had during that time.
